Industry Titans Back AI Pioneer Figure With $675M To Revolutionize The Future of Work

Figure, an AI robotics startup focused on developing autonomous humanoid robots, has achieved a major fundraising milestone that will fuel its mission to accelerate the deployment of advanced robotics at scale. In a $675 million Series B round led by tech heavyweights Microsoft, NVIDIA and OpenAI, Figure gained the backing and resources needed to further progress its vision of empowering robots with human-level intelligence through embodied AI.

The round, which valued the young company at $2.6 billion, included strategic investments from Jeff Bezos’ Bezos Expeditions as well as Intel Capital and ARK Invest. It marks a significant show of confidence in Figure’s capability to transform how businesses leverage robotics through general purpose humanoid machines. Armed with over $675 million, Figure is well-positioned to rapidly advance its robot development efforts and expand commercialization initiatives aimed at addressing critical labor needs.

In addition to the blockbuster funding, Figure announced a key collaboration with AI safety pioneer OpenAI. Combining OpenAI’s expertise in artificial general intelligence with Figure’s robotics engineering prowess, the pair will jointly develop next-generation models optimized for powering safe and capable humanoid robots. Their shared goal is to push the boundaries of what humanoid robots can accomplish through embodied AI that processes language and interacts naturally with people.

Figure also revealed a strategic partnership with Microsoft to leverage the tech giant’s world-class AI infrastructure and services. Access to Azure will supercharge Figure’s AI training processes and storage capabilities as it works to imbue its humanoid design with human-level skills. Under the leadership of founder Brett Adcock and his team of elite robotics talent, Figure is poised to transform industries by bringing embodied AI to commercial operations sooner than many believed possible. With the support of its high-profile backers, Figure is primed to establish a new era where humanoid robots enrich our lives by tackling some of society’s most complex challenges.
