In a vibrant display of entrepreneurial spirit, the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) brought its startup boot camp to the Government College for Women in Jammu. The event, part of the J&K Startup Idea Challenge, saw 100 enthusiastic students present their innovative business concepts, with seven standout ideas making the cut for further development.
The boot camp, led by a trio of JKEDI experts, marked the fourth in a series of 46 planned programs aimed at nurturing startup culture across the region. Students eagerly pitched their ideas to a panel of seasoned professionals, who provided valuable feedback and encouragement.
This initiative aligns with the J&K Startup Policy 2024-27, demonstrating the government’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship among the youth. The challenge, which kicked off on July 10, will span all districts of Jammu and Kashmir, offering participants a chance to refine their ideas through mentoring and pitch training.
The selected participants will now advance to intensive workshops at JKEDI’s campuses in Pampore and Bari Brahmana. The journey culminates in a grand finale, where the top 20 ideas will compete for prizes, incentives, and invaluable incubation support from JKEDI and its partner organizations.
As the boot camp series progresses, it promises to uncover a wealth of innovative talent across Jammu and Kashmir’s educational institutions. This grassroots approach to entrepreneurship development is set to play a crucial role in shaping the region’s economic future, one startup at a time.
