Vietnamese Entrepreneurs Land in U.S. for Major Business Networking Event

A group of nearly 200 Vietnamese business leaders touched down in the United States on Friday, kicking off a high-stakes networking mission aimed at boosting trade and investment ties between the two nations.

The delegation, representing a diverse range of industries including finance, aviation, energy, and technology, arrived on a private jet arranged by HDBank, a prominent Vietnamese lender. This visit marks the beginning of a series of meetings and discussions designed to explore new opportunities for collaboration between Vietnamese and American companies.

The timing of this trip is significant, coming on the heels of recent trade agreements valued at over $90 billion signed between businesses from both countries last month. Of these deals, more than $50 billion are slated for implementation starting this year, with a focus on aircraft procurement, aviation services, oil and gas exploration, and refined petrochemical product imports.

During their stay, the Vietnamese entrepreneurs are eager to delve into specific cooperation opportunities in supply chains, digital finance, and green transformation. This aligns with the broader trend of Vietnamese businesses expanding their presence in the U.S. market through strategic partnerships in high-tech sectors and financial services.

The visit underscores the growing economic ties between Vietnam and the United States, with the latter currently ranking as one of Vietnam’s largest trade and investment partners. In 2024 alone, major Vietnamese corporations such as Vingroup, FPT, Vietjet, SOVICO Group, and HDBank have engaged in direct talks with American giants like Boeing, GE, Microsoft, AWS, Google, Apple, and NVIDIA. These discussions have resulted in cooperation agreements valued at billions of dollars, with some already being put into action.

One notable development is the potential collaboration between Vietnamese businesses and SpaceX to implement satellite Internet services in Vietnam’s aviation, banking, and consumer sectors. Additionally, FPT Corporation has entered into a strategic partnership with NVIDIA, committing $200 million to establish an AI factory using the U.S. company’s technology.

The air travel sector has also seen significant progress, with Vietjet’s cooperation agreements with American partners exceeding $50 billion in value.

As Vietnamese businesses continue to forge strategic partnerships internationally, they are not only enhancing bilateral economic relations but also elevating Vietnam’s standing on the global stage. These efforts are creating new avenues for development and cementing the country’s growing importance in global value chains.

A representative from HDBank emphasized the bank’s commitment to expanding connections within the international financial and investment ecosystem, aiming to support Vietnamese businesses and entrepreneurs in their global expansion efforts.

This high-profile visit by Vietnamese business leaders to the United States represents a crucial step in strengthening economic ties between the two nations and showcases Vietnam’s increasing prominence in the international business community.
