In a move sure to advance Vietnam’s burgeoning tech sector, local unicorn VNG has formed a strategic partnership with U.S. chipmaker Nvidia to boost its cloud computing offerings. Through the new collaboration, VNG will leverage over 1,000 of Nvidia’s powerful graphics processing units (GPUs) within its data center facilities in neighboring Thailand.
As one of Vietnam’s largest and most successful homegrown startups, VNG offers a wide range of digital services spanning gaming, communications and cloud infrastructure. Its partnership with Nvidia will allow the company to significantly scale up its artificial intelligence and other software capabilities hosted on the cloud. By utilizing Nvidia’s specialized GPU technology, VNG can now provide enhanced AI, data analytics and other compute-heavy services to its client base.
The deal marks yet another milestone in Nvidia’s growing Asia presence following CEO Jensen Huang’s recent tour of the region. For VNG, it represents a major step forward in developing advanced solutions leveraging the latest in semiconductor technologies. With heightened government support for digitalization and rising demand for AI applications across industries, the partnership positions both companies for continued leadership in Vietnam’s rapidly digitalizing economy.
