The ambitious venture platform Plural has announced a €400 million second fund to cultivate leaders building Europe’s new “tech titans”. Co-founded by Wise co-founder Taavet Hinrikus and Songkick founder Ian Hogarth, Plural identifies daring founders tackling society’s toughest challenges through transformative technologies.
In just 18 months, Plural’s debut fund financed over 26 innovative companies developing green energy, AI solutions, and frontier technologies. Now, with Fund II, Plural aims to maximize Europe’s startup potential and address pressing global issues. Plural has previously attracted backing from prestigious university endowments, foundations, family offices, and investment funds on both sides of the Atlantic due to its proven ability to identify game-changing founders.
Carina Namih, Plural Partner, expressed enthusiasm for founders entrusting them: “We’re energized supporting entrepreneurs developing clean power to save the planet and making the internet safer.” Hinrikus noted Plural specifically searches for those creating significant technologies, as over 40% of recent European investment went to frontier and deep tech. “By advising the most ambitious founders, we’re building world-altering, GDP-level impact companies,” he said.
Plural’s latest fund signifies Europe’s thriving startup scene outpacing even the US in creation, presenting huge opportunity. With its founders’ expertise, Plural is well-positioned to nurture visionaries building tomorrow’s industry-defining businesses.
