Binny Bansal, co-founder of Indian e-commerce giant Flipkart, has a new venture called OppDoor aimed at helping brands expand their online operations internationally.
The Singapore-based company was officially launched in May 2021 under the name Three State Ventures, according to company filings. OppDoor will target key markets like the US, UK, Germany and more to assist brands with expanding to new regions.
Rather than competing directly with established players, OppDoor is focusing on providing a full suite of managed services for e-commerce companies. This includes advising brands throughout their lifecycle from launch to exit. A core offering is Amazon management services to help private label brands multiply their presence across multiple worldwide Amazon marketplaces.
Data shows brands who achieve a multi-region Amazon footprint see exit valuations three times higher than those limited to only one or two regions. OppDoor aims to unlock this potential for growth-driven entrepreneurs.
With expertise building India’s largest e-tailer Flipkart, Binsy Bansal is well-positioned to guide brands navigating complex international operations. His other ventures like Singapore’s Three State Ventures also support promising startups in India and beyond.
After departing Flipkart following its $16 billion Walmart acquisition, Bansal has invested roughly $1-1.5 billion into over 60 companies spanning fintech, D2C brands and more. Now OppDoor continues his mission of fueling innovative business models and helping them flourish on a global scale.
